A little about this project

The team at Pembury Primary School got in touch with a plan to introduce a sandpit for their children to enjoy for as much of the British weather would allow them to. This meant it needed shelter, to protect them from the sun’s rays as they sculpted and built with the sand or to ensure it was still usable when it wasn’t so sunny! Then they mentioned that it would mean us planning and designing a structure that would sit on a sloped areas of their outdoor space. We rolled our sleeves up and got stuck in straight away, only too happy to help. From design, build and through to install, we enjoyed the bespoke needs of this sandpit’s position. Challenge accepted, and complete – a functional and spacious three tiered sandpit!

We had ideas of what the play area would look like but Everyday Play went beyond our expectations. They shared a detailed visual drawing of the fully bespoke area with us and after a couple of alterations, it was agreed and the design came to life. At Sussex Road School we strive to develop bespoke outdoor environments on a fairly small site. The Everyday Play team have been working closely with us, using their knowledge and skills to safely interpret our somewhat fanciful suggestions, and create imaginative solutions in keeping with the ethos of the school.
