A little about this project

This school is just a stone’s throw from our office. They saw one of our colourful vans driving past and picked up the phone! The leadership team knew they had some challenges to overcome before they could have a safe and usable play area. Their Tarmac playground was constantly flooding due to poor drainage and so they were concerned that resolving these issues would eat up their playground budget before any equipment could be installed. We were able to resolve the problems by installing a ‘Soakaway’ pit and Acco drains before constructing a huge play frame with elements for every need and learning stage to enjoy. Then we installed a basketball hoop, which the children had requested, so everyone was made happy and now have a space they can enjoy throughout the year, even when the Great British weather tries to stop us!

We had ideas of what the play area would look like but Everyday Play went beyond our expectations. They shared a detailed visual drawing of the fully bespoke area with us and after a couple of alterations, it was agreed and the design came to life. Communication was one of their priorities and it was great to see such a qualified and enthusiastic team. They were quick to overcome any issues related to working on such a large site. At Sussex Road School we strive to develop bespoke outdoor environments on a fairly small site.
