A little about this project

We were excited to receive the call from the team at Houldsworth Valley and listened to their ideas for a huge ship, that would provide something for every one of the children in their setting. From those who liked to climb to the highest heights, to those who would be inspired to create a secret hideaway under deck! Our initial sketches led to our design team producing CAD drawings and us refining the plans for this timber structure with the school’s team. The team at our workshop then got to build the design, and handed straight over to our install teams to deliver on site, who added some finishing touches. We then got to the best part of every project, witnessing some of the school’s children taking it out for its first sail across the seas, and exploring every corner of their new ship!

We had ideas of what the play area would look like but Everyday Play went beyond our expectations. They shared a detailed visual drawing of the fully bespoke area with us and after a couple of alterations, it was agreed and the design came to life. At Sussex Road School we strive to develop bespoke outdoor environments on a fairly small site.
